The $787-billion economic stimulus bill signed into law Tuesday by President Barack Obama is favored by most Rhode Island voters. They are concerned, however, about the speed of its impact on the economy, according to a Brown University survey.

Marion Orr will become director of Brown’s Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions on July 1, succeeding Darrell M. West, who will leave the University on June 30.
