President Obama presents National Medal of Science to David Mumford

David Mumford, professor emeritus of applied mathematics, received the National Medal of Science from President Barack Obama at a White House ceremony early Wednesday evening, Nov. 17. Ten winners of the National Medal of Science, the nation’s highest scientific honor, were announced Oct. 15, 2010. Three individuals and one team also received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
