Emily Kirkland ’13 was an organizer of the Sept. 21 event.
More than a dozen activists gathered in a “flash mob” on
Monday at noon on the College Green to raise awareness about global warming and
to urge world leaders to take steps to combat climate change.
The participants set their cell phones to ring at 12:18 p.m., symbolically drawing attention to December 18, which will be the final day of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
The rally, part of a movement by Avaaz.org called “The Global Climate Wake Up Call,” took place at thousands of locations around the world.
