Dedicated philanthropist, tireless volunteer, and loyal son of Brown, for more than fifty years you have supported this University – as a two-term trustee, donor, campaign vice chair, overseer of the Watson Institute for International Studies, and Sports Foundation board member. Now, as the leader of the Financial Aid Initiative, you are fulfilling the dreams of hundreds of talented students who wish to attend Brown in spite of their limited financial means. For all that you continue to do for Brown students, we honor you with the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa.

Quare in Litteris Humanioribus Doctorem te animo grato salutamus, honoris causa.
